Lecture: Sanctuary Gardens by Patrick Quigley
Start Date: 06 Dec 2012
End Date: 06 Dec 2012
Times: 8pm
Why do we garden? In theory it should be a burden – weeding, mowing, digging, down on your hands & knees getting dirty, sore backs, hacks & cuts. And yet we still do it and find pleasure in it.
This talk looks at the need we have to create a garden, how it is a refuge, a place where we reconnect with the natural world with increasing emphasis on organic gardening and ecological balance.
Patrick was a committee member and served as chairman of the IGPS.
Organised by the Irish Garden Plant Society.
Time: 8.00 pm, Education and Visitor Centre.
