Office of Public Works, Kilkenny Castle is very pleased to welcome The Kilkenny TradFest which is brought to you as part of 'The Gathering' and in its first year, will feature the best of traditional Irish musicians, singers and dancers, as well as a feast of family fun and entertainment.
The festival will run through St. Patrick's Weekend - Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March - with a programme to suit all tastes and ages.
Events will take place throughout the city, with free live traditional music at Kilkenny Castle Park including Téada, Beoga, Electric Céilí, Leonard Barry & Friends, Anthony McCauley & Friends and Whiskers of Lichen. The Parade Tower Wing will host master classes & workshops in flute, pipes, fiddle and sean nós singing.
The theme of this year's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday 17th March is aptly 'The Gathering' and will be led by some of Kilkenny's proud Gathering Ambassadors - Brian Cody, Helen Carroll, Evanne Ni Chuillinn, Darren Holden and Bobby Kerr.
