Paradise Lost: Lord Charlemont's Garden at Marino
Start Date: 01 May 2014
End Date: 31 Oct 2014
Times: 10am to one hour before closing
An exhibition, Paradise Lost: Lord Charlemont’s Garden at Marino, gathers together an eclectic collection of evidence and remnants of the exotic planting, fascinating architecture, and classical sculpture which inhabited the garden at Casino Marino. Accounts of contemporaries who visited and sampled the delights of Marino, such as Mrs Mary Delany, the well known eighteenth-century social commentator, bring the past to life.
Paradise Lost will run from 1st May to 31st October
An accompanying website, the online version of the exhibition, is a digital archive of the information and images presented there. Use it to view the items on display, research their history, download educational worksheets, access the Trail Guide app, listen to historical letters read aloud, and much more. Content will be added on an ongoing basis throughout the summer; follow our blog, Twitter, or Facebook for updates.
The online exhibition pages will be opened on the same day as the exhibition itself – 1 May 2014.
Admission free to the exhibition. Admission charges apply for guided tours.
