The Life of James Pearse: This lecture by Brian Crowley, Curator of the Pearse Museum, explores the surprising story of Patrick Pearse's unusual and surprising father James, a stonemason who moved to Ireland in the mid-19th century. His thirst for knowledge and unorthodox views on politics and religion had a very significant, if sometimes unacknowledged, influence on his son. Admission to this talk is free. A lecture by Celia de Fréine on Patrick Pearse and Louise Gavan Duffy, suffragist, nationalist and founder of Scoil Bhríde, Ireland's first Gaelscoil. Celia de Fréine is a poet, playwright and screenwriter and author of an Irish language biography of Louise Gavan Duffy.  Admission to this lecture is free.
