Admission Fees

The online prices are Adult €7, Senior €5, Child/Student €3 and Family €15.
The walk-up prices are Adult €8, Senior €6, Child/Student €4 and Family €16.
Credit/Debit cards are both accepted.

Simon Harris TD Minister of State for the OPW together with the Kilmainham Gaol Board of Visitors has launched an appeal for the former 'Kilmainham Gaol Restoration Society' volunteer workers to come forward to recognise their achievement is saving the Gaol from ruin over 50 years ago. Kilmainham Gaol is one of the largest unoccupied gaols in Europe, covering some of the most heroic and tragic events in Ireland's emergence as a modern nation from 1780s to the 1920s. Attractions include a major exhibition detailing the political and penal history of the prison and its restoration. The tour of the prison includes an audio-visual show. Tours may be arranged for visitors with special needs by prior arrangement.

Please note that this is a very busy site all year round and visitors may experience delays at certain times.  During winter months the interior of the Gaol is very cold - please dress appropriately.
