OPW Kilkenny Castle is very pleased to welcome Kilkenny Archaeological Society's return to The Parade Tower for their Inter-University Spring Debate on the evening of Wednesday 23 April at 8pm.

OPW Kilkenny Castle is very please to present a series of FREE Garden Talks at The Parade Tower as part of the Spring 2014 Programme.
The Speakers have been chosen to interest the widest number of people and between them, they will cover different areas of design, plants and techniques.
- Admission is FREE - entry on first come basis for 120 pax at The Parade Tower
- Doors open at 7pm and Talks start at 8pm.
Tuesday 8th April:
Des Doyle, Lavistown House, Kilkenny
Des will talk about garden design essentials. He will give a visual trip through some of the best garden design elements as well as sharing information on how we might apply these to our own gardens.
Tuesday 15th April:
Tanguy de Toulgoet, Dunmore Country School, Durrow
Tanguy teaches a fascinating method of cultivation, specifically designed for growing food and ornamentals together in a sustainable and organic way. It is a particularly French method, but perfect for adapting to Irish conditions.
Tuesday 22nd April:
Jimi Blake, Huntingbrook Lodge, Wicklow
Jimi is renowned as an innovative modern gardener and a plant hunter who has taken part in expeditions to among other places, China and Tibet. The talk he proposes to give is on the subject of new and exciting perennials, both newly introduced from collected seed as well as newly breed cultivars.
Tuesday 29th April:
Angela Jupe, Belvedere House, Shinrone, Co Offaly
Angela is a well known garden designer and plantswoman. She proposes to talk about Peonies, Irises, Old Roses and bulbs, giving advice on their cultivation.
